Particle Physics
An introduction to the Standard Model of particle physics, covering its fundamental particles and interactions.
Description
This course offers a foundational introduction to particle physics, focusing on the Standard Model and its description of elementary particles and fundamental forces. We will study the particle content and interactions within the Standard Model, examine the role of symmetries and conservation laws, and develop a first understanding of Feynman diagrams. Concepts from quantum mechanics, special relativity, and group theory will be incorporated to support the theoretical framework. The course will draw in part from "Modern Particle Physics" by Mark Thomson.
The course will be given in English.
